Wandering Around

Drake wandered the backyard watching all the fairies fly around.

Scarlet sat beside the house,staring at the ground. She didn't hear Drake.

Drake saw Scarlet just sitting there. "Scarlet?"

Scarlet jumped at the sound of her name. "Yeah?" she asked, slowly getting to her feet.

"Just making sure its you." He said.

Scarlet laughed softly. "Who else would I be?" she asked.

Drake shrugged. "I dont know." He said.

Scalret smiled sadly and slid back down to the ground and pulled her knees to her chest. "You out here watching the fairies?" she asked softly.

Drake shrugged. "I love going outside. Just hearing the noises of the outdoors comforts me."

"So do I. Faries can't compare you to anyone else." Scarlet said.

Drake nodded. He leaned back and lay down in the grass and looked into the fading sunlit sky.

Scarlet was silent for a while. "Do you think your past could come back and haunt you until you do something you didn't want to do? Like hurt a friend?" she asked quietly.

Drake lay in thoughtful silence for a moment. "I dont." He said simply.

Scarlet sighed. "I can only hope." she said.

Drake didnt know what to say, so there was an awkward silence as he struggled to come up with something.

Scarlet shook her head to clear it. "Whats your favorite color?" she asked, trying to break the silence.

Drake sat in thoughtful silence to think of an answer. "I like dark blue, but green is better. Its the color of nature."

Scarlet nodded. "I like dark colors too, but it sometimes depends on my mood." she said.

Drake nodded. "Thats very true."

"So.." Scarlet said. Whats with this boy that I can't come up with anything to say around with???" she thought to herself.

Drake sighed. He'd never thought of this before. "Do you like music?"

Scarlet laughed softly, "Yes, although i don't really care what type, as long as it isnt classic." she said, "What about you?"

He let out a breath. "Music, is my soul. I have never told anyone this." He started to softly hum I Will Go The Distance, the version by Micheal Bolton.

Scarlet looked at him, "Then why tell me?" she asked.

Drake thought on the matter. Soon he was so lost in thought, he had started to sing softly. The song was his favorite of all time, I Will Go The Distance, by Micheal Bolton.
